This city is about to get spookily wonderful! From festivals, gigs, dinner shows, theatre performances, even trivia - Halloween madness is on the verge of taking hold.

Tuesday 27th October | Lecherous Gaze (USA) | Croatian Wickham

Lecherous Gaze from the United States is coming to The Croatian in Wickham this Tuesday night! Following will be Obat Batuk, Dispara and Smashing Faces. For a night of rock and roll rock down to the Croatian at 7pm, see you there!

Tuesday 27th October | Happy Hallowbirthday Stagwiz | Stag and Hunter

Stagwiz Trivia at the Stag and Hunter are celebrating their first birthday! Twelve months of old-fashioned ‘pub trivia’ have passed, and it’s time to celebrate the success! It’s time to dress up in your finest, or scariest Halloween costume and get down to the Stag and Hunter from 6pm to experience 'not your ordinary pub trivia'!

Wednesday 28th October | Straight Forward | Hamilton Station Hotel

Straight Forward from Singapore are touring our fine land and will be stopping by Newcastle to play at The Hamo this Wednesday night! Following will be local bands Downside, Ill Natured and Cut Short. Entry is free and kicks off at 8pm!

Wednesday 28th October | Curious Legends | Newcastle Library

This Wednesday night an exciting and spooky theatre performance will be coming to the streets of Newcastle! Put on a costume and come down to Newcastle Regional Library from 6:45pm to join the street parade and to do some trick or treating. Following the parade is a theatre performance with giant puppets made by artist Ross Brown, and kids from Mayfield East and HSPA. Come along to join in on the fun!

Thursday 29th October | The Insiders Lounge | Inside Out

Underground Epicureans in collaboration with Inside Out brings you The Insiders Lounge- an initiative to give underground artists public space to express themselves. You'll discover what makes them who they are, why they have chosen to do what they are doing and stories of their journey along the way. This Thursady will feature Kyle Liston of Cheese Mongrel and Indigenous art curator, and Ann Snell who sources Indigenous art to promote cultural identity.

Friday 30th Oct | Musketeer | The Lass O’Gowrie

Musketeer, a musician fit enough to serve a French King. So be a French King this Friday at the Lass O’Gowrie. This one man travelling folk festival experience will soothe your ears with an amazing zing of refreshing sound only to found by the royal squire of ‘Musketeer’.

Friday 30th Oct | Age of Consent | The Royal Exchange

Catch a performance of passion and heartbreak at ‘The Royal Exchange’ this Friday. Peter Morris’s ‘Age of Consent’ captures the beauty of two individual’s ugly past, a philosophy into the tragedies of life. Director Patrick Campbell brings Amy Wilde and Jerry Ray to stage an unforgettable performance.

‘Age of Consent’ is must for any lover of theatre at ‘The Royal Exchange’.

Friday 30th October | Opening of ‘Exhibition A’ | The Lock Up

This Friday evening at 6pm, The Lock Up presents the opening of ‘Exhibition A’, a group exhibition featuring ten contemporary artists from all over Australia. While boundaries between artistic genres are becoming less relevant and artistic practices continue to broaden, what constitutes art is perpetually being challenged. While proposing questions about crime, these 10 artists simultaneously question the nature of art itself.

Saturday 31st October | Hallowqueen Dinner Cabaret Show | Le Passe Temps

Saturday 31st October | Myall River festival | Tea Gardens

Myall River Festival is a free family friendly event hosted in Tea Gardens on the waterfront, beside Myall River and is taking place this weekend! Come along on Friday night for fireworks, and Saturday will consist of many fun festivities for the kids (or adults) including camel rides, bungee trampolines, jumping castle, giant slide, face painting, games and competitions. There will be a variety of market stalls, entertainment and a vintage car display for the adults.
